11/08/05 -- Our World Trembling
Nov 8, 2005 There is a tense and quiet pause just before a slingshot is fired. When the pebble is in the pouch and the pouch is pulled, shaking with potential, an arm's length from the handle. In that quaking moment, the shooter doesn't even breathe as he or she aims and prepares for the perfect release.
Leah and I are in the pouch. We are in the silent moment when everything feels normal and predictable, but we know that the day is nearly here where we will wake up and sit in our car and blast off into a whole new kind of life.
We're not doing anything too different these days -- just working and planning our wedding and trekking around Philly. But we're starting to feel our little world tremble in anticipation of the moment of release...the moment when Philly loosens its grip and we are flung out into the world.
In less than a month, we will be launching our new business (www.ThrowingLight.com), driving to Wisconsin to get married, driving to Louisiana for a month with family, then flying back to Wisconsin for some quality "good-bye" time before we head to South Africa for nearly six months!
We're saying farewell to our Philly routines...
But we are so excited about it all! To be married, to be travelling, to be starting our own business, and to have the opportunity to live in one of the greatest places on earth: South Africa!
